Parents and mathematics

Parents should have a better understanding of the aims of learning mathematics. If math is a food, what is the contribution for them.

Parents who are in the middle class or people who can afford the education, they certainlt want their children to have enough food.

We are in danger.
When the think maths is important just because:
To be able to pass the test
To be able to continue their study
To be able to get a better job.

Hi, what is a better job? With a high salary? Who decide that this needs high salary???

I want to tell them, not misinterpreting the maths, seeing that math in a broader sense.

I also need to know the history of maths how this maths was interacted with politics.

What I would like is to challenge or to change their inadequate views of maths.

Maths is not only about right or wrong. Maths is not limited to computation. It doesn't make sense for parents. Math is not about doing lots of production, being fluent in counting doesn't necessarily mean that they got enough skills in understanding the real problem, able to solve problem, having excellent strategies in solving.

We need deeper understanding what education is. What could be change in education.

We are living in a global world. It may be seen as a complex world.
I may present where are we now? Which context are we living.

See the fact around us:
Much more shopping centre, traffic, pollution, misbehave, unsafe, corruption.

Where is the education roles?
