CELEBRATING OPEN WEEK 24-28 OCTOBER 2011
Open Week is celebrated worldwide every year in October 2011. Wits will be celebrating by holding two lunchtime workshops, one on 24th October and one on 26th October, 2011. These will be held in the Conference Room, 4th Floor, Wartenweiler Library, East Campus.
Want to learn more about Open Access, Open Scholarship, Open Content and Open Source, Open Learning Practices, etc.? Well, then diarise these dates and come and join the discussions. All staff and students are welcome.

GIVING RESEARCH STUDENTS FEEDBACK ON THEIR WRITING
Presented by Cheryl Chamberlain. Providing students with constructive feedback on drafts of written work is a fundamentally important part of the supervision process. Amongst other things, it acts as a measure of the student’s progress, as well as her/his weak spots. The main questions that this workshop aims to address are: What feedback is most useful to research students who have submitted written work to their supervisors? What can be considered to be ‘effective feedback’ at different stages of the research process?
